Two full days into New York Fashion Week and I’m officially giddy to see that my favorite fashion decade – the 70s – is experiencing a major renaissance. Boho dresses, color-blocked suedes, and crisp satin suits worthy of Bianca Jagger and Studio 54 have already made their way down the Autumn/Winter 2017 runways.
Jeremy Scott can always be counted on for full-on-fun when it comes to his shows, and yesterday was no exception. The designer actually managed to combine several decades into his collection. Sixties pop-art prints and fuzzy coats, Seventies suedes, and Joan Collins-worthy Eighties glam.
Tanya Taylor brought the Boho to Soho with a colorful collection of dresses and must-have denim pieces. (Can I please have that wide-leg crop jean and peasant blouse combo like, right now?)
And given the fact I’m a New Yorker and I always wear black, my favorite collection of the day came from Sachin & Babi. One of my current go-to looks is a peasant-style dress with tall boots (Hello Look #32!) And I’m dreaming of the day I can wear that jeweled neckline, sheer-sleeved perfection. I may even wear the jewel on my forehead too.
