OUTFIT: Vintage Dress

One of the many advantages of living in New York’s Hudson Valley – aside from the close proximity to Manhattan – is the plethora of vintage and consignment shops in the area.

The village of Montgomery, New York is known for its foodie-worshipped restaurants and unique shops that line the main street. I finally made it a point to pop into one of those shops called “Recycled Style” where I scored this vintage, one-of-a-kind dress. (I also bought this cute vintage coat!)

The owner of Recycled Style, Maria Beltrametti, is a fashion force-of-nature. As I walked through her store, I began to feel like I had died and gone to vintage heaven. This place is chock full of some of the most unique pieces I’ve ever seen, including this handmade chiffon layered dress.

I have to admit that I had no idea how sheer and see-through this dress was until I saw these photos. The first time I ever wore it was to a confirmation ceremony for my husband’s goddaughter. Thankfully, I had decided to wear a Spanx slip underneath or I would have been mortified.
