So I found myself getting really creative this weekend with two new gel polishes from Wet n Wild.
I had been thinking about doing a black and pink combo manicure, and when I saw this very light pink gel polish called “Pale in Comparison,” I knew it was the perfect shade. I also picked up the black gel polish, “Power Outage.’ (Did you know that Wet n Wild was the first beauty company to introduce black nail polish into drugstores?)
I started by painting half my nail black and doing a wavy type of border at the half-way point. I then added the pink shade to the top portion of each nail, allowing it to drip down onto the black polish and creating what sort of looked like a melting ice cream cone.
This gel polish from Wet n Wild is called “1 Step WonderGel” and it doesn’t require a UV lamp. Once my nails were dry, I added a clear gel top coat to each nail – one at a time – and then, using a pair of tweezers, carefully placed the nail crystals along the middle before the top coat could dry. The nail crystals are from a Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Studs kit.
I have to say, I was quite pleased with the result and I’ve already gotten lots of compliments and questions about my manicure over the weekend. Now I’m inspired to create even more new looks, so stay tuned Stylaphiles!
