The Future’s So Bright…You Gotta Wear Shades

AudreyLet’s face it. Seriously, “face” it.

The one thing we wear every day (or at least should wear anytime the sun is out) is sunglasses. Nothing polishes off a complete look better than a chic pair of sunnies.

If you’re going to splurge on an investment piece for your wardrobe, this is where to do it.

These are not just vanity accessories. Sunglasses protect us in several important ways. They shield us from the blinding sun when driving so that we don’t wreck; they help to stave off those nasty little wrinkles and crinkles around our eyes; and, most importantly, they protect our eyes from damaging UV rays.

The last time I was at the eye doctor, she couldn’t stress enough how important it was for people to wear proper sunglasses on a regular basis. Especially those with very light eyes, like me. She explained that fair-skinned, light-eyed people need extra sun protection not only for their skin, but their eyes as well.

So, now that you know how important sunglasses are to your health, here’s a look at ten of my all-time favorite classic styles from five designers who have perfected the art of eye glam. Click on any of the photos for details.

PRADA

TOM FORD

DOLCE & GABBANA

DIOR

RAY-BAN

Now, I know some of you are saying, “these are expensive!” And yes, they are. But remember, sunglasses, much like shoes, bags, and coats – are investment pieces.

And to steal a quote from another iconic brand…”you’re worth it!”
