One of the perks of having a fashion and beauty blog is that I get sent lots of new products to test out. Recently one of my friends from high school reached out to me on Facebook to see if I would be interested in trying a few new products from Rodan + Fields. She’s an independent consultant for the line, and given the fact that she looks exactly the same as she did in high school, I figured she might be on to something.
A week later, I received a nice little care package in the mail with a few samples. So I tried them all.
These were my favorites:
Okay, these little wonder patches are basically an eyelift in a box. They’re chock full of peptides and hyaluronic acid that plumps up your skin overnight. Seriously, I used these one time and noticed results the next morning. Now I’m tempted to stick about 50 of these on the back of my thighs to see if they would make my cellulite disappear. I’m guessing they would.
I am constantly applying some type of Chapstick or Carmex to my lips throughout the day because if I don’t, they get so dry that they crack and bleed. Plus, when my lips are properly moisturized, my lipstick goes on so much smoother and tends to last a lot longer.
When I popped open the Redefine Lip Renewal Serum and applied it to my lips, it felt like silk…totally indulgent. And guess what? When I woke up the next morning, my lips were still soft and supple, and they stayed that way through most of the day.
This was by far my favorite product of all the samples I tried.
Exfoliation is a regular part of my beauty routine and has been for quite some time. However, my skin is somewhat sensitive (and very fair), so I have to be extremely careful when it comes to selecting the appropriate exfoliator.
What I liked about the Micro-Dermabrasion Paste was that it wasn’t too harsh or too granular, and it left my skin with the same type of feeling that you get when you go to the dentist and have your teeth cleaned. Yeah, that clean.
Rodan + Fields products are more expensive than your average drug store brand, but remember the old adage that “you get what you pay for.” These products work. And I kind of expected them to. The company’s founders, dermatologists Katie Rodan and Kathy Fields, are the creators of Proactiv® – a product I’ve been using for decades. (Yes, I still get those occasional breakouts…don’t we all?)
So thanks to my high school friend Sandy for reaching out on Facebook and re-introducing me to Rodan + Fields and their new line of products. I’m sold!
