THRIFTED: My Favorite Thrift & Consignment Shops

IMG_0129Shopping at thrift and consignment stores is one of my absolute favorite things to do. I could (and do) spend hours going through racks of clothes in anticipation of finding that one major score! And most times, I find a lot more than just one!

I know some people don’t like the idea of wearing other people’s “hand-me-downs,” but I guess since I’m the youngest of 3 girls, I’m used to it. I embrace it. Especially when I am constantly getting stopped on the streets of NYC and asked where I got what I’m wearing. I love the look of shock and surprise on the woman’s face when I say, “I got this at a consignment shop for twenty bucks.”

The thrill of the hunt and the steal of the deal is what drives me. As you can tell from reading this blog, I’m obsessed with clothes. And shoes. And bags. I never really can get enough. So balancing my spending on thrifted and consigned pieces helps me keep a roof over my head and a spectacular closet to house these found treasures.

So never underestimate the amazing finds awaiting discovery at your local thrift and consignment shops. Here are a few of my tried and trues:

Classic Reruns – Pine Bush, NY

Goodwill Thrift Shop – 79th & Broadway – NYC

Renaissance Consignment – Birmingham, AL

The Salvation Army – Middletown, NY
