Being in the thick of New York Fashion Week, I’m finding myself already inspired by some of the latest looks on the runways. (Click here to see the Carmen Marc Valvo bobs that inspired my new haircut.)
Yesterday, the models at the Lela Rose show sported lovely ladylike manicures consisting of a nude base coat and dark half-moons painted at the cuticle bed. I took that inspiration and ran with it, creating the look you see here with the help of my trusted Sharpie.
I applied two coats of Essie’s “Ladylike.” Then, I drew half moons along my cuticles with the Sharpie. I finished off the look by applying a top coat of Pure Ice nail polish in “Spitfire.” The topcoat did cause the Sharpie moons to bleed a bit, but I liked the overall effect, as it ended up looking like the NYC skyline.
A look inspired by NYFW. A look that’s perfect for NYFW.
