Each month while flipping through all my fashion magazines, I pull out pages of products or looks I want to try and put them in my “Trends to Try” folder. The other day I was thumbing through that folder and found about six ads for Revlon’s Moon Candy nail polish. Obviously, I’ve been wanting to try this for a long time.
So, off to the store I went in search of Moon Candy. I came home with this shade – #290 “Universe” – a deep burgundy color with a gold flakes infused top coat. (It’s a perfect fall color, and since the weather in New York has felt like fall for the past week, I deemed it appropriate.)
This DIY manicure does take a bit longer than a traditional one. You have to apply two coats of the base color polish and let it dry completely. Then you add the top coat with the gold “candy” to each nail. Getting the glittery moon dust to spread evenly takes a bit of practice, but I was happy with the overall look.
What do you think of my Moon Candy Manicure?
