Beats the Hell Out of the Jelly of the Month Club!

Remember when you were a kid and would fill out a form from a cereal box to get a special “prize package” in the mail? The excitement of waiting for the day when your special delivery would arrive? If you were like me, you would count down the days and repeatedly make your parents explain to you the concept of “business days” when it comes to delivery times. And then the sheer joy of opening the mailbox and seeing a box with your name on it?

I’m reliving that joyous childhood moment twice a month now with my Birchbox & BeautyBar.com sample boxes. Each box contains 4-5 samples of the latest beauty products for you to try, evaluate and then, if you like, order a full-size version on their websites. (So far, my must orders are Arcona’s Cranberry Toner & Deborah Lippmann’s Private Dancer nail polish.)

You can sign up to get your own Birchbox & BeautyBar.com sample boxes for $10 & $15 each. With your subscription you get monthly coupons to be used towards any full size purchases. I’m actually saving the boxes and creating nice little holiday gifts for friends and family with some of the products that I don’t use. To quote Cousin Eddie again, “it’s the gift that keeps on giving the whole year.”

Do you currently get these or any other type of monthly sample subscriptions? What are your favorite products you’ve sampled?
