I don’t fantasize about him in THAT way. I know the man is in his eighties. I do, however, dream in vivid colors about this man’s glorious creativity when it comes to costume jewelry.
People who know me know I’m not a fine jewelry person. Not into diamonds or bling of any kind. The most bling I ever wore was a pair of Victoria’s Secret satin thongs that had crystal “appliques” on the front. They caused me pain. They caused my ex-boyfriend even more pain.
When it comes to accessories, I like unique and bold statement pieces like the Kenneth Jay Lane horn necklace I’m having an affair with in the picture. This man knows his craft. He’s designed costume jewelry for such legendaries as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, and Audrey Hepburn.
I spotted my beloved horn necklace on my favorite shopping website, Net-A-Porter.com. (check out the Kenneth Jay Lane collection here)
I’ve been wearing it for years. It’s one of my signature pieces. Sometimes I plan my outfit around the necklace. Another great find was this turquoise and gold “statement” ring. I believe the statement it’s making is that Kenneth Jay Lane is a genius and my obsession is justified.
Oh, and by the way, I just found out that he started out as a shoe designer for Christian Dior. Is it any wonder why I fantasize about this man now?
